Diners Delight is a family-run, real charcoal grill and meze Turkish restaurant that oozes charm, warmth and atmosphere. Secretly tucked-away off Broad Street by the railway bridge in Teddington, there is far more than meets the eye to this surprising dining destination run by Turkish husband and wife team, JJ and Filiz.

Some might go as far as saying that Diners Delight has a split personality. But this is in the nicest possible way!

JJ and Filiz took over the reins of Diners Delight seven years ago (it has now been going a strong 22 years and counting). Then four years ago, they cleverly decided to bring the best of Turkish cuisine to Teddington by introducing their renowned Turkish Delight dining experience.

At Diners delight, by evening you can enjoy authentic and delicious Turkish dishes including freshly cooked mezes, grills, kebabs, special dishes on charcoal grill, salads, seafood, vegetarian dishes and their speciality complimentary ‘Balloon’ and flat breads. Those who have had the joy of sampling the food of Turkey’s gorgeous Lycian coast will be taken straight back to those balmy evenings eating fresh and delicious local food. Cap this off with Raki, Turkish coffee and al fresco dining on the terrace at Diners Delight (if we’re lucky enough to get a warm British summer’s evening!), then you’re getting incredibly close to the true Turkish experience. Those in the know have been said to put Diners Delight ‘up there’ when it comes to finding the best fresh Turkish food in London.

For those with a sweet tooth, the Fried Ice Cream with Chocolate Sauce is not to be missed. The syrupy and nutty Baklava is also very popular with diners.

To add to the Turkish experience, and for something a bit different, a belly dancer impresses the diners on the first Wednesday of the month. You can even dance with the belly dancer if you like!

Now, the second side to Diners Delight is its daytime cafe. This is a treat of a place for your cooked breakfast, with plates that take up the whole table. You need to ask for the no. 8 set breakfast if you’re up to the challenge, the Full Monty! Breakfasts include free range eggs, homemade bubble and local butcher, A.G. Miller’s, Cumberland sausages. The all day English breakfast starts from £4.49. Delicious Fair Trade Italian Aroma coffee is served to have in our take away.

The café extends to lunchtime food too (although we’ve all had a day where a full English is all that will hit the spot, even if it is 1pm!). On the menu is spaghetti bolognaise, lamb shank, meatballs, burgers, chilli con carne, meze food, omelettes, salads, paninis, wraps plus lots more. Beer and wine can be served from 11am. This family friendly café also offers children’s dishes.

Wow, now that’s what I call a break from the road! Lovely bright airy café with smiley staff, great food and a chilled atmosphere! Plus they do amazing coffee too. Vastly better place to stop than those trashy services! Try it!

Did you know: Rick Parfitt of Status Quo fame has been spotted enjoying the food at Diners Delight. Also scenes from the first ever episode of the hit-comedy ‘Spaced’ staring Simon Pegg were filmed here too.

The restaurant is also available to hire for parties and private events. It can seat up to 55 people including the terrace outside.
