Who knew Teddington had its very own horse riding school!? Park Lane Stables is quite literally a hidden gem. It’s down Park Lane, a small a residential street in Teddington just off Broad Street. Passers-by are often surprised to find a stables hidden away on a small street – it doesn’t have its own land but the horses travel into Bushy Park to enjoy group hacks, private lessons or independent riding to a stunning backdrop.
I went as a 30 something adult looking to get back into riding – I hadn’t been on a horse since my teenage years but I wanted to find an enjoyable way to keep fit and enjoy the outdoors. Horse riding was the perfect answer!
It was quiet the daunting experience entering a new riding school as an adult but the people there are welcoming and friendly. I went on a beginners adult group ride to Bushy Park – just to see how I got on! Before I knew it I was back trotting a long and re gaining my confidence.
Needless to say I absolutely loved it and have booked a block of private 1 to 1 lessons. -Sharon
