Kids & education
Focusing on 11+ tutoring and established 15 years ago my business is all about helping parents find the right secondary school for their children, whether state or independent. We all know what a challenge that is in this area and I have developed a very successful model of small group classes over approximately one year, to bring children up to necessary standards in Maths, English and (depending on the school) verbal and nonverbal reasoning.
I have 25 years’ experience as a state school teacher and in addition I now use a small number of highly effective additional tutors where numbers demand it.
I currently run classes in Esher, Weybridge and Thames Ditton and will be opening new tuition centres in Teddington and Kingston in September 2015, running one night a week for an hour and a half after school. Please contact me for further details and also get a copy of my book, Eleven Plus Without The Fuss – A Parent’s Guide to Secondary School Selection, from Amazon or all good booksellers.
I have recently moved to Teddington and am experienced in tutoring Maths at KS2, KS3, KS4 and KS5 (A-level Maths and Further Maths) level.
I have a first class Maths degree from UCL and I qualified as a secondary Maths teacher in 2012.
I have had success with all ages and abilities of children.
Buttercups is a group of independent, boutique nurseries that are individually and personally managed. We believe that every child is an individual – a unique combination of vitality and delight, of excitement and inquisitiveness. What they all have in common is a wealth of potential.
Buttercups provides the opportunities for each child to fulfil their potential by developing self-confidence, so that they are happy with themselves and with each other, and by giving them care, love and a world of new experiences.

I am a qualified maths teacher offering tuition in and around Teddington. I offer help and support from KS2 through to KS4 and specialise in helping students jump a grade (or two!) at either SATS or GCSE.
I completed my PGCE in Secondary Maths in 2011 and subsequently taught at two local comprehensives before deciding to tutor part-time in January 2014.
I believe that students can often be helped to gain confidence by breaking mathematical concepts down into simple steps. I frequently link concepts to the real-world, as well as use games and puzzles in order to increase engagement levels. Students are more open in a 1-to-1 sessions and can`t use some of the common avoidance tactics that occur in classrooms, so any misconceptions can be readily identified. Finally, I find that lower ability students benefit from strategies to help their basic numerccy.
Private antenatal classes and postnatal support visits for parents-to-be around the Teddington area.
